One of the best parts about the holiday season is all the different festivities that take place locally- a majority of them being Christmas markets! Filled with lights, vendors, and often times a fantastic firework display, Christmas markets are a dreamy sight.
If you’re local to southern Ontario then this post is for you! I’ve rounded up some of the prettiest, show stopping sights to see this holiday season! Let’s dive in.
Toronto’s Christmas Market
Rediscover the magic and romance of the holidays at the Distillery Districthttp://tochristmasmarket.com
With over 30 vendors and loads of activities, you can easily make a day out of visiting Toronto’s Christmas market. The market boasts with lights and illuminations and tons of photo-op opportunities, you can also catch live shows at the main stage. The best part is that the market is free to visit during the week-days (Tuesday to Friday) and tickets are available to purchase for a reasonable price during peak hours on the weekends.
Blumination at Blue Mountain Village
Between dusk and 9pm on the hour, the sound of upbeat music will fill the Blue Mountain Village and lights will dance to the rhythm!https://bluemountainvillage.ca/
Blue Mountain in Collingwood Ontario puts on an amazing event called Blumination, featuring a walking trail that hosts beautiful light exhibits! The trail is absolutely free and if you happen to be there on December 7th or 31st you can also enjoy a free firework display! There’s shops and dining throughout the village as well so you can easily make a day out of it!
Gift of Light in Kitchener
Gift of Lights is a family-friendly drive-thru holiday light display with two tunnels and over 300 animated and static light displays!http://bingemans.com/
I’ve honestly never seen anything like this before, but what a wonderful idea! For just $15 per carload you can experience this amazing tunnel with the coolest light displays. They also offer a walk only night twice on December 1st and January 4th with proceeds going towards local charities! For more information about this awesome event and to buy tickets, click here.
Canada’s Wonderland: Winterfest
Canada’s Wonderland will be magically transformed into a winter Wonderland full of enchantment and holiday cheer during WinterFest!https://www.canadaswonderland.com
This is so exciting! Everyone local to Canada’s Wonderland knows that it’s closed every single winter due to the snow and extreme weather making it unsafe for the park to function. That’s why this year is so exciting because for the first time ever the park is hosting a winter event! They have loads of attractions including a candy cane lane, the north pole, ice skating, tree lighting ceremony, and more! Buy tickets here!
What festivities do you attend in your town?! I’d love to hear about it in the comment section below!
