Most people can’t wait for the summer time. Hot weather, no school, sunshine and good vibes. For me, not so much. I dread the summer time, but before you get all “Nicole what is wrong with you,” hear me out.I like spending time outside by the pool as much as the next girl, but summer days in Canada aren’t always what they seem to be.
Where I’m from, the summer isn’t just hot it’s extremely humid. If you’ve never had to deal with severe humidity, consider yourself lucky. All I can tell you is that it feels like you could drink the air, it feels heavy and it makes you feel sticky & your hair frizzy and overall it makes being outside unbearable.
I just wanna be comfy
I wish I could tell you that I am one of those girls that lives for a cute outfit, I find that the cuter the outfit the less comfortable it is- and I am for comfort over cuteness.
To say that I would die for sweater weather all year round is an understatement. I just want to be able to wear layers, sweatpants and sweat shirts, cardigans, big scarves, Jean jackets, and fluffy boots 365 days a year.
Here in Canada, the winter time weather makes construction outside impossible because it gets so cold that the ground freezes and the snow piles up. So in the short 3-4 months that we get of hot weather, all the construction takes place at once (or so it seems).
This makes driving really difficult with all the roads that are closed and the traffic becomes a nightmare. For someone with little patience, you can imagine how irritated I get when I have to sit for longer then usual while going 20-30 below the speed limit.
I think we can all agree, dealing with bugs ain’t fun. I genuinely get the creepy crawlies from insects and I don’t understand how they always somehow make their way inside your home.
Bug bites are the absolute worst, I hate being itchy and the thought of a bug not only physically touching me but biting my skin– I can’t deal.
All the best holidays are in fall/winter
I patiently wait for summer to be over every single year partly because fall weather is my absolute favourite and partly because I live for Halloween and Thanksgiving!
When the snow flies it brings Christmas (which is the most wonderful time of the year) and my birthday!
How do you guys feel about summer? Do you like it or hate it? Let me know in the comment section below!
