Hello loves! ♥︎
It’s a whole new month ya’ll. Where the hell did August go? I can’t believe that it’s already September. This year has flown by, and with it has come a lot of change and a lot of personal growth- but that’s for another post.
Today I wanted to let you in on what I was obsessed with during the month of August, from tv shows to meals to everything in between.
Just an FYI (for anyone who’s wondering what it’s like to be a dog Mom) I just had to stop typing out this blog post to cuddle and comfort my dog for ten minutes because she was upset that my Brother and my Mom left the house.
Anyways, lets get on to what you’re all here for!
On the Telly
This past month I haven’t been watching too much tv, I’ve been working a lot and when I’m not working I tend to lean more towards watching/catching up on my favourite YouTubers. BUT when I did watch some telly, here’s what was on:
My girlfriend and I found this gem on Netflix one night whilst looking for something to watch. At first I was like “this is kinda weird” but after the first episode I was hooked. This sitcom is based on a Korean-Canadian Family that own a convenience store and I think that’s partially what got us to watch in the first place, the fact that it’s so close to home. The show is based in Toronto, Ontario which is an hour south from where we live! Being a Canadian television sitcom, I was iffy about it because we all know Canadian television/movies aren’t often up to the Hollywood standard. But I was pleasantly surprised and I fell in love with not only the show but the characters themselves. They’re a wholesome family that will make you laugh, and get all the fuzzy feels at the same time. I don’t know if it’s a true representation of the Korean culture, but it’s cool to see the customs that they do incorporate! There is currently two seasons (that I binged through already) and CBC announced they are set to air a third season, I’m so excited!
Talk about a boss ass bitch. Iliza is the funniest female comedian that I’ve ever come across, she had me in tears. She has multiple specials on Netflix, and we watched 3 or 4 of them. My favourite one is Elder Millennial where she talks about life at 35, and jokes about everyday normal adult things. The best part about her specials is that every new joke she does has its own hashtag, so you can easily find clips on social media or tune in to what other people are saying about a specific bit.
I have been into watching some older shows too, throwback shows if you will. I watched a couple episodes of 8 Simple Rules, Greys Anatomy, and my OG F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Podcasts and Now Reading
These obsessions haven’t changed since my last current obsessions post so if you want to read more about them and check out that post then feel free!
In the last post, this section was labelled vloggers and although I still love watching vloggers, I feel like I started following several other accounts that didn’t fit into that category. However, the majority of the channels that I follow are vloggers and I think I’m into those types of YT channels because I absolutely love reality tv. I’m only going to feature a couple of the channels that I obsess over in the post, because I’m going to do a full detailed posts on my favourite YouTubers, so stay tuned for that.
Family Daily Vlogging Channel
I absolutely love Keren and her boys- Khoa, Jackson, Landon, and brand new baby Sutton. They post daily vlogs so you never have to painfully wait for their next video because you get a new one every single day! They live in Florida and their lives are just fun to follow- they’re always doing fun things!
Georgia, if you ever see this, you’re amazing and I AM SUCH A BIG FAN OF YOURS. I discovered Georgia through her video Mom Asks Questions About Bisexuality (linked below) and I laughed so hard and fell in love with her personality instantly. She’s such a quirky, fun, down to earth person and has amazing content. She posts once a week but if you’re lucky she’ll sometimes thrown in an extra video.
This month my girlfriend and I have been determined to eat more home cooked meal and cut out the unhealthy amount of take-out from our diets. I won’t lie and say that I’m good in the kitchen but my girlfriend on the other hand is a chef compared to me, although I do try and help. Here’s a couple of the dinner’s we’ve made that make my mouth water just thinking about it:
- chicken tacos
- cottage roll and scalloped potatoes
- souvlaki chicken breast, broccoli, creamy cheese and bacon noodles
I downloaded two new apps in August- Unfold and VSCO.
Unfold is an amazing app to create everything from Instagram stories, Pinterest photos, and blog post photos.
I’ve been using VSCO to edit my photos, and if you’ve seen my Instagram lately you’ll have noticed I have a theme now (finally). Using VSCO is super easy, I saved my favourite filter as a pre-set so it’s super simple to apply it to every single photo.
In August I’ve been super obsessed with my Google Chromecast- it makes watching tv and streaming so easy that I haven’t used my android box since I got it. You can read my full review on my Chromecast here!
Those are the things I’ve been obsessed with- I really hope you all found something new to try or watch or read from this blog post!
Let me know if you did in the comment section below!
