I graduated from College!

It’s been two years of blood, sweat, and tears. I poured my all, my entire being into my education and I pushed myself through the summers attending full time while everyone else was having their vacation.

Every single “will I make it” “I don’t think I can do this” “when will it end” was dissipated when I walked across that stage with the people who I love and support me cheering me on. I couldn’t be more thankful or more blessed.

For those of you who don’t know, I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program and I am so exited to start my career!

It was more than an accomplishment. I graduated my last semester with honours, I was the first person in my family on either sides to attend a post-secondary institution and I graduated with an Advanced Diploma.

I know it seems like I’m boasting, but there was a time in my life that I never thought that this was a possibility. Battling mental illness, and going through things I shouldn’t have had to go through in life put me in some pretty dark spots that lead me to have a negative outlook on my future and life in general.

When I walked across that stage yesterday it was like walking away from all my doubts.

To my Biggest Fans

I love you. You all are the pieces that fit together to make my heart whole.

Without you, I wouldn’t have gotten to the place I stand today. I can’t thank you enough, or show you all how much you mean to me. It would take 384848 years, 39384 hugs, & 8377373 “I love you’s”.

Thank you for being there for me, pushing me when I needed it, and always believing in me.

I received three gorgeous bouquets of flowers in celebration- an assortment of yellow flowers including yellow roses from my awesome mama-in-law, pink roses from my amazing step mama, and red roses from my beautiful girlfriend.

I’ve never had this many vases of flowers around my room but it’s so lovely I could definitely get used to it!

Dinner at the Keg!

The part I was looking forward to the most (is that bad? oh well) was dinner. I love me some Keg steak.

We picked up my brother along the way a little early to go grab some pictures together since he was unable to attend the ceremony.

Our reservations were for 5:30 so we made our way from the park to the restaurant. I am never let down when we go to the Keg, and it’s usually for a celebration because it’s quite a fancy high-end restaurant.

The service was amazing and our hostess was so polite and friendly- she wished me a huge congratulations on my graduation!

Tristan got a rack of ribs, I got a top serloin steak, and my brother (Nate) got the famous Keg chicken fingers.

We finished off the meal with dessert and our hostess brought me out a complimentary Billy Manor Pie (they are my fave!!!!!) in honour of my celebration that evening.

One Last Stop

After we left the restaurant we headed to my Dad’s place so I could have a quick visit with him and the other three little crazy brothers of mine.

Georgian only provided each student with 3 tickets for the graduation ceremony so I couldn’t fit everyone I wanted to be there in, so I made my rounds and visited instead.

Yes we’re big and crazy and loud but the love and support that emanate within our family is unmistakable and forever strong. I’m so blessed to be a daughter and a big sister.

I couldn’t have asked for the day to be anymore perfect then it was, I felt so special and I soaked in my accomplishments with pride. I did it.

I’m so excited to see what my future holds, knowing that it will only be good, great, fantastic things.

Congratulations to all my other fellow classmates- class of 2018 baby!!!!

As always,
